Selected countries for the study

The study takes place in the USA, Mexico, Spain, South Africa, India and Sri Lanka. 

The countries have been chosen on the basis of five main criteria:
1. High number of cases experienced at the beginning of the pandemic
2. Geographical spread
3. Inclusion of Lower Middle Income Countries, Upper Middle Income Countries and High Income Countries
4. Countries with high rates of AMR
5. Local availability, interest and support from members of the global AMR Insights Ambassador Network.

The study includes 16 hospitals and 60 patients per hospital resulting in a total of 960 patients to be evaluated.
