The internet of things (IoT) is a development of the internet where everyday objects are embedded with microchips, enabling them to send and receive data. The global IoMT market is expected to grow to $158 billion in 2022, with the healthcare industry experiencing significant growth due to technology advances and healthcare access concerns. IoT devices could be used to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in various medical applications, including diagnosis, treatment, and infection prevention strategies. These devices could also be used in farm animals, ecosystem monitoring, and patients’ homes.
