Reversal of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in Gram-Negative Pathogens in Hematology Oncology Patients

  30 May 2025

This retrospective study analyzed drug susceptibility patterns (DSP) of gram-negative bacilli (GNB) in febrile neutropenia patients. It found that AMS activities, such as restricting high-end antibiotic use, cessation of antibiotic use, and improving diagnostics, can reduce carbapenem resistance in Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli, and DTR rates in Pseudomonas aeroginosa. This suggests that AMS activities can curtail GNB resistance in vulnerable populations.
