Personalised antimicrobial susceptibility testing with clinical prediction modelling informs appropriate antibiotic use

A personalised approach to antimicrobial susceptibility testing has been developed to provide more appropriate treatment options for urinary tract infections. The approach, which uses real-world healthcare data and prioritises selection of World Health Organisation Access category antibiotics, delivers more susceptible results per specimen for these antibiotics, thereby tackling antimicrobial resistance.
