Pandemic of Antimicrobial resistance – Unraveling the potential of Ayurveda

  20 April 2024

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is affecting agriculture and animals, leading to the development of antibiotic substitutes. Traditional medicines, such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy, and Traditional Chinese medicine, have proven efficacious in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. Studies suggest that botanicals and peptides in plant defense systems could offer effective antimicrobial agents. Ayurveda, a holistic approach, emphasizes the importance of individual health and lifestyle changes. Health promotion initiatives aim to increase public knowledge of health-related issues and promote health education on Ayurveda’s core principles.
