Adopting telemedicine in the fight against antimicrobial resistance in West Africa

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a major global health crisis, causing millions of deaths in Africa. In West Africa, self-medication and limited access to healthcare facilities contribute to the emergence of AMR. Telemedicine, a relatively new approach, has been rarely studied or considered in combating AMR. This paper discusses the roles of telemedicine, its limitations, and suggests remedies to overcome these limitations.
