Harnessing artificial intelligence for predictive modeling in combating antimicrobial resistance: a call for integration and innovation

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global health issue causing increased mortality and medical costs. AI can help combat AMR by enhancing antibiotic therapy precision, guiding antimicrobial stewardship programs, and providing early warnings for resistance outbreaks. AI-driven predictive models can also facilitate the development of new antimicrobial agents and tailor treatments to individual patients. However, effective application requires interdisciplinary collaboration and robust policy frameworks, dedicated funding, and global partnerships.
