The antimicrobial resistance cube: a framework for identifying policy gaps and driving action

The UHC cube diagram, a widely accepted visual depiction of policy decisions to support UHC and prioritize investments in health-care interventions, is a summary of WHO’s commitment to Universal Health Coverage (UHC)1,2. We suggest a simplified framework, the AMR cube, for policymakers, scholars, and civil society to assess a nation’s response to antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which is modeled after the UHC cube. Three crucial dimensions are integrated within the AMR cube: Resources, actions, and contexts related to One Health, each of which is essential to the fight against AMR.
