Evaluation of synergistic/antagonistic antibacterial activities of fatty oils from apricot, date, grape, and black seeds
The study investigates the potential of combining natural antibacterial agents, such as apricot seed oil, date seed oil, grape seed oil, and black seed oil, to combat increasing antimicrobial resistance. The results show that linoleic acid is the most abundant fatty acid in all samples, except for ASO. The study also conducted antibacterial screening against Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus mirabilis, and Staphylococcus aureus. All oils showed antibacterial activity against tested strains, with ASO showing the highest activity against P. mirabilis. The ASO-GSO mixture showed promising antibacterial activities against all strains except P. aeruginosa.
