Sociocultural determinants of antimicrobial resistance in Iran: a qualitative study

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing global public health threat affecting health systems and economies. A qualitative study found sociocultural factors contributing to AMR development, including general public culture, public drug use culture, cultural barriers, and demographic changes. Policymakers should consider these factors when devising interventions to combat AMR, prioritize clinical guidelines, enhance insurance oversight, and improve diagnostic capabilities to effectively address the challenge.
