OIE WORLD ASSEMBLY DISCUSSES ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE

  01 July 2019

Experts from around the world discussed and analysed the recommendations of the world conference on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) during the 87th Annual Assembly of Delegates of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), which took place at the end of May in Paris, France. The meeting was attended by representatives of the 182 member countries and observers from international and regional organisations.  The Latin American region is expected to strengthen international collaboration and coordination for the surveillance and monitoring of AMR and the use of antimicrobials, as addressed by the Second OIE Global Conference held in Morocco in 2018, and to continue to study these issues at the national level.
