Key actions to curb antimicrobial resistance

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a significant threat to human health, food security, and economic stability, with an estimated 39 million deaths predicted between 2025 and 2050. The UNEP’s Navigating New Horizons report warns of its long-term impact on prosperity and environmental protection. A policy brief for parliamentarians proposes strategies to address the crisis, including strengthening laws, securing financing, and raising awareness. It also suggests a One Health approach for coordinated action.
