Diagnostic Errors in Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobial Resistance

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a serious public health threat worldwide, and is leading to resurgence of untreatable infectious diseases. However, AMR surveillance in low and middle-income countries (LMICs) may not be of appropriate level. Optimum utilisation of clinical microbiology services requires an integrated effort of several hospital services including supportive management and dedicated nursing staff. It requires regular and persistent motivation at all levels of the healthcare.
