Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a significant threat to modern treatments, including antibiotics for immunocompromised patients. AMR can lead to excess mortality, disease outcomes, economic costs, and patient quality of life. To protect antibiotics, education on combating AMR, appropriate testing, and infection control procedures is crucial. Good antimicrobial stewardship can deliver cost savings and ensure safe access to new anticancer treatments.
