AP1 – Workshop on: Antimicrobial Stewardship in hospitals and the community

22/09/2019 - 22/09/2019
Abu Dhabi (UAE)
FIP Congress & Conferences

Join us to learn how antimicrobial stewardship can be implemented in hospital pharmacy in different resource settings and explore the untapped role of community pharmacy in antimicrobial stewardship.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global challenge and pharmacy plays a major role in influencing this agenda. The FIP Policy Statement on Antimicrobial Resistance was adopted in 2017 and the 2019 Congress has a strong focus  on AMR: One approach doesn’t fit all: Need for country specific interventions to promote appropriate use of antibiotics (C4), Superdrugs for superbugs: Antibiotics of the future (C6) and AMR and environmental pollution with medicines (C1).

The 1st Antimicrobial Stewardship Workshop will be held at the FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences to supplement the plenary sessions as part of the FIP AMR Programme.

We invite all pharmacists and technicians involved in supplying or promoting the responsible use of antibiotics to attend this session. Those who are keen to establish or improve their antimicrobial stewardship service are highly encouraged to attend.

Places are limited to ensure a high-quality, interactive event, and your interest to attend must therefore be indicated separately during the online registration process for the congress.

All participants will be presented with a Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the workshop.
