Strengthening primary health care-oriented health systems to address antimicrobial resistance

  28 August 2025

It highlights eight priority AMR interventions, supported by a scoping tool and stakeholder checklist, and aligns with WHO’s people-centred AMR approach (PCA-AMR). Organized under the three PHC pillars—integrated services, multisectoral action, and community empowerment—the interventions focus on strengthening primary care, ensuring equitable access to quality infection prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, and enhancing community engagement, drawing on lessons from implementation in four countries.
