Examining the use of different message categories to communicate AMR: A content analysis of Instagram posts
This study examines antimicrobial resistance (AMR) posts on Instagram from 2017 to 2023, focusing on the use of the platform for health education. The research found that the most common post category was educational/informative, with 78% of posts being educational. The study also found that Instagram has largely been used for AMR interventions, missing out on the significant number of young adults who use Instagram as their primary source of information. This highlights the need for more effective public health messaging on AMR.
