2025 edition of global survey to track antimicrobial resistance launches
The ninth round of the Tracking Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Country Self-assessment Survey (TrACSS) began on 15 April 2025, aiming to complete by June 2025. TrACSS is a key component of the global AMR monitoring and evaluation framework, enabling countries to assess their progress in implementing multisectoral AMR national action plans (NAPs) annually. The Quadripartite organizations – the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) – jointly develop, launch, manage, and analyze the results. The survey covers human health, animal health, food, agriculture, and environment sectors in countries. In 2024, 186 countries (96%) responded to the survey, with Member States aiming for a 95% submission rate by 2030. The data from TrACSS can be used to identify gaps and priorities for follow-up actions and assess the progress of the Global Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance.
