What is the Longitude Prize?

Longitude Prize is an international challenge prize competition that will ultimately select one point-of-care diagnostic test to receive a grand pay-out of 8 million British Pounds ($9.1 million). The winning point-of-care test will significantly reduce the unnecessary use and overuse of antibiotics and be affordable, accurate and rapid. This test must be practical to use in the North America and Europe as well as in low and middle-income countries (LMICs).

There are currently 83 teams competing for the Prize from 14 countries with a broad mix of entries from industry and academia. The competition is still open to new registrants. The Prize Rules can be found here.

The Longitude Prize is hosted and managed by the Challenge Prize Centre(link is external) at Nesta(link is external), the Innovation Foundation based in London.

Please RSVP to Ruth Neale at ruth.neale@nesta.org.uk(link sends e-mail) by Friday March 15 2019 if you plan to attend the workshop. If you are interested in presenting in the 11:10 session, please send responses to questions that appear below agenda.
